Everything All The Time

About

With so many great categories of design, it is hard to just focus on one. Which is why this blog will focus on a little bit of everything: architecture, furniture, product design, illustration, various artists, etc. Curated by Brian Everett of EVRT Studio in Kansas City

Also check out the EVRT Studio newsfeed and visual stream on Tumblr.

Reliefs by Ron Van Der Ende
Ron creates absolutely amazing relief paintings. He uses reclaimed pieces of wood with different colors and textures to ultimately create a very dimensional piece of art. You really should have a look at some of his work, including his older work from 2000 - 2001.

Haynes Manual Collection from Surface View
Surface View just added a large selection of technical drawings from the Haynes manuals, that you can now buy. I would kill to have this giant plane on my wall. The images are available in black on white, reverse, and many vivid colors.

Here is a time lapse video of Kiel Johnson making a giant cardboard replica of a TLR (Twin Lens Reflex camera for those non-photographers). You have to watch, if you are interested in cameras at all. Now I want to make one myself….

Baseball by Tatsuro Kiuchi
It was hard to pick just one illustration from Tatsuro. His work is really amazing. He blurs the lines between traditional and digital work: honestly I am not sure which it is. Probably a combination of both. He has a different view point of things, than I have seen from anyone else. Really a great eye. I’m glad he switched from Biology to become an illustrator. You can see more of his work on his flickr page here.

Mobiles by Miranda Watkins
If you are looking for super minimal and sleek mobiles, Miranda’s designs are perfect. I really like the subtle use of color, and gray values combined with stainless steel. I’m afraid to ask how much they cost…

Barn Owl limited edition silkscreen print by Beethings
I have all kinds of artwork hanging in my house. I don’t really need anything else, but I’m having a very hard time restraining myself from buying this. Not that an owl is anything new, but that farm scene underneath is just awesome.
You can buy this on Etsy for $20. 10” x 14” print.

Art supplies....

How are Artists these days supposed to make any money selling Art, when Art supplies cost so ridiculously much? No wonder good painters sell works for thousands! :)

I went to the local Art supply store to buy all of the materials to turn this into a limited run of block prints. Now I definitely have to sell quite a few prints in order to make my money back, just on the supplies! Geesh…

Anyway, hopefully I will get the block print done soon (soon in my time frame is a month). They will be signed and numbered.

In other news: I’ve convinced my wife to get a Tumblr blog :) Actually, it was mostly her idea. So we have been thinking of a name, which we now have, and soon I will put the blog together for her. Will let you know when it is up and running.
