About

Multidisciplinary Inspiration

With so many great categories of design, it is hard to just focus on one. Which is why this blog will focus on a little bit of everything: architecture, furniture, product design, illustration, various artists, etc. Curated by Brian Everett of EVRT Studio in Kansas City

Alexander Girard Nativity Set from House Industries
“Alexander Girard amassed a huge collection of nativities, most of which he spent the last years of his life curating for his wing at the International Museum of Folk Art in Santa Fe. We thought it would be an appropriate homage to create a completely new nativity that is based on a Girard illustration that hangs in his son’s house.”

matthewb:

Albert Exergian created this great set of minimalist film and television posters as a personal project. You’ll find these and many more on his blog, and his commercial portfolio is equally impressive (and much more ornate).

David Buckingham (Los Angeles) makes really awesome things out of recycled metal. The list includes giant hand guns, movie quotes, color studies, and various words (my favorite). Do yourself a favor and click through to glance at his work. I would buy anyone of his pieces, if I had the extra money stashed away (plus a giant loft wall to hang it on).

The time is near to start thinking about a 2010 calendar. There are literally thousands to choose from, all from very great independent artists. Hammerpress here in KC has their new calendars available. You can get them online or stop by during ‘First Friday’ tomorrow night. Click through for their website.

thanks

timmcfarlane:

Hey, just a quick ‘thank you’ to the 25 of you who are following my tumblr :) Have a great weekend!

t.

You are welcome Tim.

To be honest, I’m shocked only 25 are following you. If you aren’t following Tim, you should be. He is not only a very talented painter, but a great photographer. Tumblr has a lot of great artists, and Tim is no exception! Plus he runs a great blog.
