Everything All The Time

About

Multidisciplinary Inspiration

With so many great categories of design, it is hard to just focus on one. Which is why this blog will focus on a little bit of everything: architecture, furniture, product design, illustration, various artists, etc. Curated by Brian Everett of EVRT Studio in Kansas City

Cameras by Rod Hunting
Part of a collage show called “Get It Together”. Screen printed wood panels: the remaining up for sale can be found by clicking through. Also check out Rod’s site, as he has some really great work and the site itself is really well put together.

Here is a time lapse video of Kiel Johnson making a giant cardboard replica of a TLR (Twin Lens Reflex camera for those non-photographers). You have to watch, if you are interested in cameras at all. Now I want to make one myself….

1937 Kodak Bantam Special Designed by Walter Dorwin Teague
Teague was one of the most prolific American Industrial Designers of his time. He lived in an era when ID, Architecture, Interior Design, etc. were all sort of rolled into one career, and people usually dabbled in a little bit of each of those categories.
You name it, he designed it. From buildings to Texaco gas stations, Cold War missiles, air craft interiors, cameras, and even a piano.

I am definitely a vintage camera collector, and with my earlier post about the upcoming Olympus digital, it reminded me of the Olympus Pen F which I have always wanted.  It shoots only a half frame 35mm.

How did I miss this back in September?
Finally….  someone is making a digital camera with looks inspired by vintage rangefinders (besides Leica).  This thing just just looks awesome.  I can’t say I’ve ever wanted to run out and buy an Olympus camera, however they did have some very nice film SLRs back in the day (OM 1).  My one complaint would be why create an interchangeable lens camera with no viewfinder?  I wish it was a rangefinder actually.  And I’ve always been interested in a 4/3 system.
