I hear a lot of people around me talking about how anti-climatic the inauguration was. What were you people expecting? “It was pretty anti-climatic.” “Maybe a sign of things to come?”
It is a legal swearing-in ceremony of a President. The economy and nation are not going to instantly turn around because Obama is now President. It is going to be a long hard road of recovery.
My greatest concern over the next couple of months, is whether or not Obama and his staff get credit, where credit is due. All of the McCain supporters, Media, and people who made a last minute decision to vote for Obama, are all going to be at his throat if something doesn’t work out the way they think it should. Talk about being in one of the most powerful positions in the world, and at the same time, toughest. The first black President, taking office at one of the worst times. Historic proportions of that measure, takes equal amounts of support. Let’s not be fair-weather-fans, and crucify the new coach because his first press conference didn’t give the “impression” of him being a strong leader.
My hope is that everyone really gives this a chance. Don’t be so negative already. Would you want to be in his shoes? Our country is not going to be fixed in days, weeks, and maybe not even months. So don’t loose faith…..
