Everything All The Time

About

Multidisciplinary Inspiration

With so many great categories of design, it is hard to just focus on one. Which is why this blog will focus on a little bit of everything: architecture, furniture, product design, illustration, various artists, etc. Curated by Brian Everett of EVRT Studio in Kansas City

Hang On by Thomas Alken for PP Møbler
Thomas always wondered what could be made from the waste scraps of wood, left over from creating the PP Møbler collection. Hang On takes advantage of that waste wood. The unique thing is the wood color comes from whatever scrap they have at that specific time in the shop. So you might get a variety of colors. Plus you can put it together yourself with no glue or hardware.
Personally I’m always researching organizational products since that is what I design on a daily basis, and this ranks up there with one of the more well thought out products I have seen. It is simple, to the point, and uses leftover wood that is already being paid for in the manufacturing process. Plus it just looks damn good….

Erika designed by Nils Holger Moormann
I’m always researching storage and organization because of my job, and I came across this system from the German designer. This is not a new idea to organize your things in one place, but to make it look this good is extraordinary. It definitely will appeal to Europeans, but Americans would not be interested in a ‘out-in-plain-view’ sort of idea. However, I can image New Yorkers to be interested in it with their limited space.
