Multidisciplinary Inspiration

With so many great categories of design, it is hard to just focus on one. Which is why this blog will focus on a little bit of everything: architecture, furniture, product design, illustration, various artists, etc. Curated by Brian Everett of EVRT Studio in Kansas City

World Map Painting
Another great world map. A reproduction painting from a Bollywood artist, once responsible for creating movie posters and sets. Sadly, artists like that are no longer needed in the industry. The run is limited to 576 prints.
58” x 24” print for $129 from CB2

World Map by These Are Things
There isn’t much background information on “These Are Things”, but they have created this awesome world map, silk screened in 4 colors. It does not have every single country, but instead is just a nice simple representation of the world.
30” x 20” print on heavyweight paper for $60. Click through to buy, and see other hi-res photos.

Traveler Motel
The next print up in the store went up this morning. This was an illustration I did for a presentation to a client that went unused, so I modified it a little and turned it into a small print. For the time being, this is my personal favorite thing I have illustrated.

Snow Ski
Done and in the shop. Not much has changed since the previous version you saw, except some added subtle texture. I fooled around with adding ski trails, but they didn’t look right, so I just kept it simple instead.
Anyway, click through to buy it from my shop. Stay tuned for more prints soon to come!
12” x 18” print on 100# True White Speckletone French Paper

Finally got this print up in my shop!

The Unlikely Thieves by Christopher Lee (The Beast Is Back)
Besides this print just being darn good, plus some great subject matter, the description from Christopher should sell you:
“The greatest diamond heist in the world was accomplished by a sleepy boy and his jewel hungry friend. Some say the creature ate the diamond. If that’s true, then I say let him have it. The world is better off less one shiny rock.”
9.5” x 13” print for $20
Take a look through the rest of his shop as well, you won’t be disappointed.

Coming Soon: New prints for sale!
I’ve been working on some new prints to sell in my shop, which will be 12” x 18” posters printed on French Paper. Here is a sneak peek at the first one. It isn’t quite finished yet; just a few more details to add. Hopefully the finished print will be up in the shop later next week. There is a second print that will closely follow.
(left is full print: right is a detail)

I know I said I wouldn’t post my own work here anymore, but I’m breaking the rules :) Guilty as charged…..

Haynes Manual Collection from Surface View
Surface View just added a large selection of technical drawings from the Haynes manuals, that you can now buy. I would kill to have this giant plane on my wall. The images are available in black on white, reverse, and many vivid colors.

As some of you know, fellow Tumblr Brian Everett created some prints that are now being sold at CB2, and since there isn’t a CB2 in Kansas City where Brian is located Jamie and I went to check them out and take some photos for him. They look great and are displayed prominently in the store, and it’s very cool to see something like this from someone you know and respect. So congratulations to Brian and hopefully he can make it out this way to see them for himself!
You guys are the best! Seriously! A million thank yous, and the photos are fantastic! I am eternally grateful, and hopefully I can make it out to NY very soon!

» Newer, Better EVRT Store...

I’m not selling crap on Etsy. (Although, thank you very much to you 3 that bought prints. I really appreciate it)

I think it is because there are so many people on there doing the same thing, and you really have to make a name for yourself to draw people in. I also don’t rotate my items for sale enough.

Anyway, I’m moving to my own personalized store, but for now I can only have 5 items listed at a time to take advantage of the free version. If I start selling more, I will move to the customized version with a monthly fee.

I’m starting with selling some really inexpensive 4” x 6” prints I have lying around, so stop by the shop if you are interested. There will only be one for sale of each print, so the photos will hopefully rotate out as they sell. In other words, stop by often to see different prints for sale.

Thanks

Patterned City

Finally, my new prints are available at CB2. It feels like it has been forever since the deal was sealed, but they finally released today. Go check them out. $149 for the set of three. Two of the buildings are KC buildings, which is very cool.
