Everything All The Time

About

Multidisciplinary Inspiration

With so many great categories of design, it is hard to just focus on one. Which is why this blog will focus on a little bit of everything: architecture, furniture, product design, illustration, various artists, etc. Curated by Brian Everett of EVRT Studio in Kansas City

Submit your work to be featured!

I’ve been working on a full redesign of this blog layout, but with my very limited extra time, it should be done sometime next year. I honestly wish someone would invent this thing where you lay out your site in illustrator, then hit export, and presto! all the links are done and everything.
Anyway, I have a serious thing for condensed fonts lately, and one that I will be using for the redesign is Steelfish by Larabie Fonts. You can grab it for free by clicking through.

Herb Lubalin ranks as one of the finest graphic designers of his time, and he’s also the man responsible for typefaces like Avant Garde Gothic, Lubalin Graph and Serif Gothic.
New York City’s Cooper Union school is currently holding an exhibition called Lubalin Now which features his work and more recent works in the same spirit, so if you’re in New York and in any way interested in design, I would highly recommend checking it out (I would if I could). The exhibition runs from now until December 8th with FREE ADMISSION at the Cooper Union Gallery, 41 Cooper Square, New York, NY.

The company I work for, started going through a re-branding phase right after I started, and luckily I convinced them to switch the company typeface to Avant Garde. I’m not sure how I pulled that one off, since they are so stubborn. But I’m glad they made the change. It is easily one of, or is entirely, my favorite type family.

Ogaki by Aron Jancso
After much of a long and heavily anticipated amount of time, Ogaki is finally available to buy. In my personal opinion, it sort of breaks the mold of font designs recently. With all of the type factories popping up on the internet, there have been a surplus of fonts which tend to blur together and look very similar to others. I can’t say I’ve seen another font that looks like Ogaki. Well done. Click through to buy….

League Gothic by The League of Moveable Type
Here is a nice little free Sans from The League. It is completely free, even commercially speaking, which is nice. Click through for the download link.
“League Gothic is a revival of an old classic, and one of our favorite typefaces, Alternate Gothic No.1. It was originally designed by Morris Fuller Benton for the American Type Founders Company (ATF) in 1903.”

I will always love Avant Garde. I some how managed to convince my company to switch to it for their packaging.

I’ve always wanted a giant letter E for my living room. Urban Outfitters now carries some large marquee letters.

There have been a plethora of image based or illustrated typefaces popping up on the internet this year, and most of them I cannot say I really like that much. But this one is my favorite.
